Cast On

I cast on the Dead Simple Lace Socks on Tuesday night, in the hotel of course. I'm working each on a separate needle rather than together, but doing each section on each sock before moving on. So I have one that is just a toe and one that is a toe and a little bit of foot. Pictures to follow. I'm still in MI.

Wendy and Yarn Pirate

Having taken a weekend seminar with Wendy on different techniques for toe-up socks, I have decided to knit through her book using different techniques for each sock. That is 20 socks. By the time I finish, I figure I will know exactly what fits my feet the best. Now, that means I need 20 yarns to pair them with. I have no shortage sock yarn by any means and my favorite dyer is Yarn Pirate. I have quite a few single skeins that I have not done anything with, having little time to knit. (I have more now with all the travel, my favorite thing to do on planes is knit socks.) So what better way to knit through Wendy's book than with Yarn Pirate's yarn. I'll have to figure something out for the patterns that call for more solid colors, but I'll deal with that when the time comes. So, sock number one: Dead Simple Lace Socks in June Bug. Winding balls tonight, cast on tomorrow.
